JPEC 2012

After much consideration it has been decided that JPEC will not run this year. As everyone is well aware, public education is in the midst of a storm that makes it difficult--silly even--to try and run a district level competition.

I would like to recognize all the teachers who have collectively pledged hundreds of volunteer hours working with you on the prebuild events and cheerfully supported your efforts at past JPEC events. Without them, JPEC wouldn't run at all.

I look with hope and anticipation for a fair settlement of the current dispute and many more years of JPEC.

About Us:
JPEC is a you-build-it competition designed for junior science students (grades 8-10) in the Lower Mainland. Its purpose is to build stuff, learn some physics, and have fun. It is run by volunteers, including high school teachers, students, and UBC faculty.
